MANILA, Philippines – Inanunsyo ni Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Manuel Bonoan nitong Miyerkules, Mayo 21, ang plano ng pamahalaan na magtayo ng bagong tulay katapat ng San Juanico Bridge.
Sa press briefing ng Palasyo, sinabi ni Bonoan na ang bagong tulay ay may habang 2.6 kilometro na mas mahaba kaysa sa kasalukuyang tulay.
Popondohan din aniya ito sa pamamagitan ng official development assistance mula sa Japanese government.
“This will be one of the flagship projects under this administration. It is now under detailed engineering design. We hope that the detailed engineering design will be completed by 2026 and the construction will follow immediately,” sinabi ni Bonoan.
Ang San Juanico Bridge naman ay sasailalim sa rehabilitasyon matapos na makitaan ng pangamba sa structural integrity nito. RNT/JGC
