MANILA, Philippines – Walang agarang epekto sa trade performance ng bansa ang temporary import ban ng China sa mga baboy, wild boar, at related swine products mula sa Pilipinas, ayon sa Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) nitong Miyerkules, Mayo 20.
“While the Philippines does not currently export live pigs, wild boar, or related swine products [to] that market — meaning there is no immediate impact on our current trade performance — we view this development through a lens of mutual understanding,” sinabi ng BAI.
Iniulat na nagpatupad ng import restriction ang General Administration of Customs ng China dahil sa swine fever.
Sa kabila nito, nananatiling committed ang Manila at Beijing sa pagpapatupad ng biosecurity at iba pang control measures para mapuksa ang swine disease at maprotektahan ang global agricultural supply chain.
Sinabi rin ng BAI na ang disease control strategies ng bansa ay nananatiling nakaayon sa standards ng World Organisation for Animal Health.
