BBB credit rating ng Pinas napanatili

MANILA, Philippines – MAKAHIHIKAYAT ng mas maraming foreign investments sa bansa ang kamakailan lamang na patunay ng investment-grade credit rating ng Fitch Ratings sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi ni Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto na winelcome niya ang desisyon ng Fitch na panatilihin ang “BBB” credit rating ng bansa na sinasabing ‘above the minimum investment grade’ na isang notch na may “stable” outlook.

Tinuran ni Recto na ang credit rating ay tagumpay para sa mga ordinaryong mamamayan, inaasahan nito ang resulta sa higit na accessibility para tustusan ang development programs ng gobyerno.

“This affirmation is highly encouraging as it shows a strong vote of confidence in our ability to grow the Philippine economy in a higher path over the medium term,” ayon kay Recto.

“As I have said before, any rating affirmation or upgrade is a major win for all Filipinos as this means that the Philippines can have more access to cheaper financing from global capital markets. A better credit rating will help us create more jobs and reduce the poverty rate,” dagdag na pahayag ng Kalihim.

“The Philippines’ high credit rating sends a signal of confidence to investors and creditors, resulting in lower interest rates and better returns for Philippine bonds,” sinabi pa nito.

Winika pa nito na makahihikayat ito ng mas maraming foreign investments sa bansa, makalilikha ng mas maayos na employment opportunities para sa mga Filipino.

“Fitch’s recent reaffirmation of the Philippines’ credit rating has allowed the country to maintain its high investment-grade status across all major regional and international debt rating agencies,” ayon sa ulat.

Sa report na may petsang Hunyo 7, 2024, sinabi ng Fitch na ang BBB rating at stable outlook ay sumasalamin sa ‘strong medium-term growth’ ng Pilipinas. Kris Jose
