Join Rotary International District 3830 in the global fight against polio by participating in the End Polio Now: A Benefit Fun Run on October 20, 2024, at Filinvest City Alabang, Muntinlupa. Hosted by the Rotary Club Parañaque East and led by District Governor Prescy Yulo, this event invites everyone to run not just for fitness, but for a world free from the threat of polio.

Polio has been a global menace, causing paralysis and death, especially among children. However, through Rotary’s persistent efforts since the Philippines’ first vaccination project in 1979, polio cases worldwide have been reduced by 99.9%. Still, as long as the disease exists anywhere, children everywhere are at risk, making continued action critical. The End Polio Now campaign is Rotary’s commitment to ending polio for good, but it can only be achieved with increased awareness, advocacy, and support.

This benefit fun run aims to raise the necessary funds and rally collective action toward Rotary’s mission. Through the leadership of End Polio Chair Ram De Mesa and RSRJ Events Management, the event offers several ways for people to get involved.

There are multiple race categories available, ensuring something for everyone: 1) In-person Race: Participants can run distances of 1.5K, 3K, 5K, 10K, 16K, or join the Fur Baby category for runners who want to bring their pets; 2) Virtual Run: Runners anywhere in the world can join the virtual race with distances of 16K, 21K, and 50K, allowing global participation in this cause; 3) On-site Registration: Available at New Balance stores in One Ayala Mall, BGC High Street, and Alabang Town Center for those who prefer in-person sign-ups.

This fun run is part of Rotary’s 2024-2025 theme, The Magic of Rotary. By joining this campaign, participants will help Rotary meet its commitment to eradicating polio forever.

The proceeds will go directly toward polio eradication efforts, funding vaccinations, raising awareness, and ensuring that Rotary’s 45-year fight against this crippling disease reaches its conclusion.

Let’s unite for the health and safety of the next generation. Be part of history—register now, run with us on October 20, and take one step closer to a polio-free world.
