MANILA, Philippines – Bilang paghahanda sa darating na holiday season, nagbukas ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) ng mga aplikasyon para sa karagdagang mga posisyon sa Immigration Officer para palakasin ang mga frontline services sa International Ports of Entry and Exit (IPEEs).
Ayon kay BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, ang naturang hakbang ay bilang tugon sa inaasahang pagtaas ng araw-araw na pag-alis at mga international arrivals kasunod ng pagdiriwang ng Pasko at Bagong Taon.
“This initiative ensures that we have adequate manpower to provide faster and more efficient immigration services during the peak travel season,” ani Viado.
“Every year, travel peaks after the New Year, and we expect these numbers to rise again, with OFWs and returning Filipinos heading back to their overseas destinations,” dagdag pa ni Viado.
Nabatid sa BI na ang mga matagumpay na aplikante ay sasailalim sa isang intensive training program sa Philippine Immigration Academy sa Clark para maghanda sa mga batas sa imigrasyon, arrival at departure procedures, document inspection, at national security enforcement bago ang deployment.
“Newly trained Immigration Officers (IOs) will be deployed as at the frontlines in different airports and offices in the country,” pahayag ni Viado.
