MANILA, Philippines – Naitala ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Boac ang pinakamaraming tao na bumisita sa nag-iisang sementeryo sa bayan mula pa noong 2020.
Sa panayam, sinabi ni Luna Eulogio Manrique, hepe ng Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Mitigation Office (MDRRMO), na dumagsa ang mga tao patungo sa Boac Catholic and Municipal Cemetery madaling araw pa lamang ng Undas, Nobyembre 1.
Tinatayang nasa 5,000 katao ang nagsisiksikan sa loob ng sementeryo bandang 2:30 ng hapon, araw ng Miyerkules.
“We have not seen a crowd this big inside the cemetery since before the Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic. Vehicles cannot even park any closer than 200 meters away from the cemetery’s gates,” ani Manrique.
Samantala, sinabi ng MDRRMO head na mahigpit na ipinatutupad ang seguridad at kaayusan sa loob ng sementeryo sa pamamagitan ng 50 miyembro ng police force ng Boac.
Sinusuportahan din ito ng mga tauhan mula sa Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team ng Marinduque Police Provincial Office.
Namamahagi naman ng libreng lugaw, tubig, biskwit, candy at mga kandila sa mga bumibista sa Boac Cemetery na mula sa monetary donations ng provincial at municipal leaders, local fraternities at Boy/Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
“So far, it has been peaceful here all day. But the police and MDRRMO personnel will be here until tomorrow (Nov. 2) because we expect an influx of latecomers,” dagdag ni Manrique. RNT/JGC
