MANILA, Philippines- Nanawagan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Huwebes kay Cedric Lee at isa pang akusado na sumuko na matapos silang hatulan ng korte na guilty sa ilegal na pagditene sa host at aktor na si Vhong Navarro noong 2014.
“Mag-voluntary surrender na lang po sila doon sa pinakamalapit na istasyon sa kanila o they can get through their lawyers, so that they could arrange po yung possible voluntary surrender po nila,” pahayag ni PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo.
“Nonetheless po, yung ating mga akusado naman po ay they have the right to exercise and exhaust all lagal remedies available to them to file a motion for reconsideration or even appeal this case po to the proper forum,” dagdag niya.
Sa 94 pahinang desisyon ng Taguig RTC Branch 153, hinatulan sina Lee, Deniece Cornejo, Ferdinand Guerrero at Simeon Raz ng reclusion perpetua o katumbas ng 40 taong pagkakulong kaugnay sa kaso noong 2014.
“It is all too apparent that the accused planned and premeditated to restrain Vhong Navarro to extort money from him. Proof of their agreement is inferred from their conduct before, during, and after the commission of the crime,” ayon sa korte.
Base sa korte, nakitaan ang mga akusado ng “common understanding between them” sa pagsasagawa ng krimen.
Iniutos rin ng korte sa mga akusado na bayaran si Navarro ng P100,000 bilang civil indemnity, P100,000 bilang moral damages at P100,000 bilang exemplary damages.
Kinansela rin ng korte ang bail bond ng mga akusado.
Sinabi ng abogado ni Navarro na si Atty. Alma Mallonga na agad ipinakulong ng korte sina Raz at Cornejo, na personal na dumalo sa promulgasyon.
“They asked for consideration. Ang sabi ng court, my ruling stands. And ang ruling ng court is for Ms. Cornejo and Mr. Simeon Raz who were there to already be committed,” giit ni Mallonga sa isang panayam.
“As far as Mr. Cedric Lee and Ferdinand Guerrero were concerned, they were ordered arrested and they will also be committed as soon as they are found,” dagdag niya. RNT/SA
