MANILA, Philippines – Naglunsad ng combat patrol ang China nitong Miyerkules, Agosto 7, malapit sa Scarborough Shoal sa West Philippine Sea, para sukatin ang “strike capabilities” nito.
Nitong Miyerkules, sinabi ng People’s Liberation Army – Southern Theater Command na ito ay “organized a joint combat patrol in the sea and air space near Huangyan Island”, o Chinese name para sa Scarborough Shoal.
Sinukat din ng maneuvers ang reconnaissance at early warning capabilities ng mga tropa nito.
“All military activities that disrupt the South China Sea, create hotspots, and undermine regional peace and stability are all being controlled to the best extent,” dagdag pa.
Ang Scarborough Shoal ay 240 kilometro kanluran ng main island ng Luzon at 900 kilometro naman mula sa pinakamalapit na land mass ng China na Hainan. RNT/JGC
