MANILA, Philippines- Sumakabilang-buhay na si Chino Trinidad, isang beteranong sports journalist, sa edad na 56.
Kinumpirma ito ng kanyang anak na si Floresse Trinidad.
“Yes, we are very sad to share the news of his passing last night, July 13, 2024,” pahayag ni Floresse.
Nasawi si Trinidad dahil sa heart attack nitong Sabado ng gabi habang patungo sa isang meeting sa Newport World Resorts kasama si Efren “Bata” Reyes at iba pang personalidad.
Isinugod siya sa San Juan de Dios Hospital, kung saan siya namatay.
Sa hiwalay na mensahe, binigyang-pugay si Trinidad ng kanyang mga anak bilang isang “passionate member of the media and sports community.”
“Known to many through his storytelling, he never stopped sharing the greatness of Filipinos,” saad sa mensahe.
“He was a loving husband and a supportive father. He will truly be missed,” dagdag pa.
Dating nagtrabaho si Trinidad sa GMA Sports bilang isang correspondent at sports analyst.
Noong 2019, nakatanggap siya ng special award for Meritorious Conduct sa Dangal ng Maharlika Awards.
Kinilala siya “for contributing to the promotion, awareness, and appreciation of arnis and Filipino martial arts.”
