“Over the years, he amassed and defended his world boxing titles, notably the super featherweight title, which still stands as the longest-held title in the division’s history. Elorde held the world super featherweight title for 7 consecutive years,” ayon kay Clarin.

“Elorde retired with an impressive record of 89 wins and continues to be revered as one of the greatest fighters from the Asia-Pacific region. His achievements have earned him induction into various Halls of Fame. He made history as the first Filipino to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993. Additionally, he was honored by the World Boxing Hall of Fame, being inducted in the class of 1988. The induction ceremony, which honors Elorde on 29 April 2024, is organized by the National Boxing Hall of Fame, a California-based organization that honors the athletic community of boxers, past and present, and aims to recognize boxing for its unique and intense nature.”
