MANILA, Philippines – Nilinaw ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na hindi kailangang kumuha ng anumang certification mula sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) para makatanggap ng cash relief assistance ang mga public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers.
Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary at spokesperson Irene Dumlao, “We would also like to emphasize that we do not require any certification from Comelec or similar documents before receiving any of our programs and services.”
Ang cash aid ay bahagi ng tulong ng gobyerno sa mga transport workers na naapektuhan ng pagtaas ng presyo ng gasolina. Tanging valid driver’s license lamang ang kinakailangan upang makakuha ng tulong.
“They are already facing difficulties in their livelihood, and we are here to help ease their situation, even in a small way,” dagdag pa niya.
Ayon sa DSWD, ang mga benepisyaryo ay tinutukoy batay sa listahan mula sa mga partner agencies tulad ng lokal na pamahalaan para sa tricycle at jeepney drivers, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) para sa TNVS drivers, at Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) para sa motorcycle taxi at delivery riders.
Nilinaw din na kahit nakatuon ang programa sa PUV drivers, maaari pa ring humingi ng tulong ang ibang sektor sa ilalim ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
Hinimok ng DSWD ang publiko na i-verify ang impormasyon sa kanilang opisyal na website at social media upang maiwasan ang maling balita tungkol sa mga programang tulong ng gobyerno. RNT/MND
