MANILA, Philippines – PINASALAMATAN ng Embahada ng State of Palestine ang Pilipinas para sa posisyon nito sa 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
“The Embassy of the State of Palestine expresses its sincere appreciation to the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Department of Foreign Affairs for the principled position demonstrated by the Philippine delegation at the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, including its participation in the walkout during the address of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” ang sinabi ng embahada.
Winelcome din ng embahada ang alalahanin ng Pilipinas hinggil sa humanitarian crisis sa Gaza, E1 settlement plan ng Israel at tumataas na settler violence sa West Bank.
“This position reflects the Philippines’ commitment to international law, peace, and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and its continued support for the two-State solution,” ayon pa rin sa embahada.
Nauna rito, kinumpirma ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na nakiisa ang mga Philippine diplomat sa ibang delegasyon na nag-walk out sa UNGA hall noong Sept. 24.
Sinabi ng embahada na nanawagan ang Pilipinas sa lahat ng partido na umiwas mula sa unilateral actions na maaaring parupukin ang mapayapang resolusyon sa rehiyon. KRIS JOSE
