MANILA, Philippines- Bumaba ng 16% ang budget ng gobyerno para sa confidential at intelligence funds sa 2025 kumpara ngayong taon.
“Yes. So, our total Confidential and Intel Funds for next year, for 2025, bumaba po siya ng 16 percent,” ayon kay Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman sa press briefing sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang, araw ng Huwebes.
“It is from 12.378 billion pesos in 2024 sa GAA (General Appropriations Act) and then now, iyong proposal po namin, it’s only ten billion, two hundred eighty-six million point ninety-one – iyon po,” dagdag ni Pangandaman.
Ayon sa kalihim, may ilan lamang na ahensya ng pamahalaan ang nakatanggap ng malaking confidential o intelligence funds.
Ang nakakuha ng pinakamalaking halaga ay ang Office of the President (OP) na P4.5 bilyon.
Sinundan ito ng Department of National Defense na nakakuha ng P1.8 bilyon. Ang pondo ay hahatiin sa Office of the National Defense Secretary (P147 milyon) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (P1.7 bilyon).
Sumunod dito ay ang Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) na nakatanggap ng P906.6 milyon. Ang pondo ay hahatiin sa Office of the DILG Secretary at Philippine National Police (PNP).
Pagkatapos ng DILG, ang Department of Justice (DOJ) ay nakakuha ng P579.4 milyon. Ang pondo ay hahatiin sa Office of the DOJ Secretary, Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), at Office of the Solicitor General (OSG).
Sinabi pa ni Pangandaman na ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ay nakatanggap ng P18 milyon habang ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) ay nakakuha ng P405 milyon.
Tinuran ni Pangandaman na ang iba pang executive offices ay nakatanggap ng kabuuang P1.8 bilyon.
Ang Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) ay nakakuha ng P7.5 milyon; Games and Amusement Board (GAB), P4 milyon; National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), P991.2 milyon; National Security Council (NSC), P250 milyon; Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), P60 milyon; at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) na P500 milyon.
“Other agencies that received smaller confidential funds include the Commission on Audit (COA), Office of the Ombudsman and the Commission of Human Rights (CHR),” ayon kay Pangandaman. Kris Jose
