MANILA, Philippines – Nanawagan ang Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) sa mga mananampalataya na magsindi ng kandila at magdasal para kay Pope Francis, na pumanaw noong Abril 21, 2025, sa edad na 88.
Pinangunahan ni CBCP President Pablo Virgil Cardinal David ang isang misa sa San Roque Cathedral sa Caloocan bilang parangal sa yumaong pontiff.
Ang mga mananampalataya ay iniutos na magdasal ng ganitong panalangin:
“O God of mercy and compassion, we entrust to You our beloved Holy Father, Pope Francis, whom You have called from this life to Yourself. Grateful for his tireless witness to the Gospel, his courage in proclaiming mercy, and his love for the poor and for the earth, we now commend his soul to Your eternal embrace. Grant him the reward of faithful service: the joy of seeing You face to face. May he rest in the peace of Christ, whom he served with humility and hope. Amen.”
Ipinag-utos din ni David ang pagkalembang ng mga kampana ang lahat ng simbahan sa buong bansa bilang paggalang sa pagpanaw ng Santo Papa. RNT
