MANILA, Philippines – Hindi pa kasama si dating House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa case referrals na ginawa ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Sa press conference na idinaos sa Presidential Broadcast Studio, Kalayaan Hall, Palasyo ng Malakanyang, araw ng Huwebes, Nobyembre 13, sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., na kung may lumabas na ibang alegasyon na dapat niyang harapin , kailangan niyang harapin at sagutin ito.
“I don’t think so because the only evidence that has been made against him is in the Senate,” ayon sa Pangulo sabay sabing “So, I don’t know. We don’t… We… No, with the Speaker, no. Not as yet. Not as yet. If something else comes out, then he might have to be answerable for something.”
Sinabi pa ng Pangulo na hindi sila naghain ng kaso para lamang sa ‘optics.’
“We file cases to put people in jail or to make people answer. I know that there are many, many suggestions of who else we should file cases against. Well, we’re fine with that. Provide us the evidence and we will file cases against them,” anito.
Sa kabilang dako, may 37 indibiduwal, kabilang na ang mga mambabatas, mga dating opisyal ngDepartment of Public Works and Highways officials, at mga kontratista, na kasama sa first batch ng case referrals sa Office of the Ombudsman.
Sa ulat, GROSS INEXCUSABLE NEGLIGENCE lang ang puwedeng isampa kay Romualdez.
Naglabas ng pahayag si Ombudsman Boying Remulla kaugnay ng kasong posibleng harapin ni dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Ayon kay Remulla, dapat umanong managot si Romualdez sa pagtatalaga kay dating kongresista Zaldy Co bilang House Appropriations Committee chair — isang posisyong may kontrol sa malalaking pondo ng pamahalaan.
