MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) nitong Biyernes na ang red plated sports utility vehicle (SUV) na minamaneho ng driver na tumakas sa traffic enforcers matapos masita sa ilegal na pagdaan sa EDSA busway malapit sa Ortigas Station, ay hindi pagmamay-ari ng bangko.
Anang DBP, makikipag-ugnayan ito sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) kapag natanggap na ang show cause order ukol sa kinukuwestiyong puting SUV na may pulang plaka na ilegal na nakarehistro sa DBP.
“Based on our records, the DBP has never owned nor maintained a white (SUV) that matches the description in the publicized reports of DOTr Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation,” giit nito.
“Moreover, the original plate in question remains in the possession of DBP,” anito pa.
Nitong Huwebes, sinabi ng Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) na hinahanap na nito ang driver ng SUV, na binilisan ang takbo para makatakas matapos masita sa paggamit ng EDSA Busway.
Natuklasan ng SAIT na hindi tugma ang plaka ng SUV sa registered vehicle type, “suggesting potential fraud.”
Inaalam na ng mga awtoridad ang pagkakakilanlan ng SUV driver.
Samantala, nangako naman ang DBP ng buong kooperasyon sa transport authorities.
Sinabi ng bangko na ito ay “one with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in ensuring the safety and efficiency of the country’s transport systems as well as upholding road safety and accountability.” RNT/SA
