MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ni dating senator at ML (Mamamayang Liberal) Partylist first nominee Leila de Lima na ang pagkasungkit ng pwesto sa Kamara sa kabila ng mga balakid ay patunay umano na kaya pa ring manaig ng idealismo at katotohanan.
Sa mensahe sa mga volunteer at taga-suporta ng ML Partylist, sinabi ni De Lima na malayo pa ang laban sa hustisya at reporma, iginiit na hindi ito natatapos sa isang kampanya.
“It doesn’t end with one campaign. But this win—this hard-earned, against-the-odds win—proves that even in a system built to discourage idealism, idealism can still break through,” giit ni De Lima.
“We made space where there was none. We proved that truth, even when battered, can still make its way forward,” aniya pa.
Nagpasalamat din ang dating senador sa mga taga-suporta “for fighting alongside me.”
“The results are still coming in, but already it is clear: ML Partylist will have a seat in Congress. This journey has been long and difficult, but today, we are here, celebrating a victory that was made possible by your strength, your courage, and your generosity,” wika niya.
“For nearly seven years, I lived behind bars for reasons that had nothing to do with justice and everything to do with power. I lost my freedom, but I held on to my voice.”
