MANILA, Philippines – Nagluluksa ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa pagkamatay ng dalawang estudyante habang lumalahok sa fun run sa Cauayan South Central School nitong Sabado, Oktubre 3.
“The Department of Education expresses its deepest sympathies to the families and school community mourning the tragic loss of two learners at Cauayan South Central School in Isabela,” saad sa pahayag ng DepEd.
“DepEd is taking the necessary steps to establish the facts surrounding the incident and is coordinating with the local government and law enforcement authorities. A fact-finding investigation is underway, including a review of the activity, safety measures, equipment used, and the roles of those involved,” dagdag pa.
Hiniling nito sa publiko na “respect the privacy of the affected children and their families and to refrain from sharing unverified information, names, photographs, or videos.”
Sa huling ulat, isang estudyante ang nananatili sa ospital at isa ang inoobserbahan pa.
Sinabi ng pulisya na ang mga biktima ay nasa lugar na puno ng bubbles nang mangyari ang electrical short circuit dahilan para makuryente ang apat na estudyante.
Sisiguruhin naman ng DepEd ang nararapat na aksyon sa magiging resulta ng imbestigasyon. RNT/JGC
