MANILA, Philippines – Maglalabas ang Commission on Elections ng desisyon sa disqualification case laban sa mga miyembro ng Tulfo family pagsapit ng ikalawa o ikatlong linggo ng Marso.
Ayon kay Comelec Chairman George Garcia, inatasan ang mga miyembro ng Comelec division na suriin ang disqualification plea at pagresolba sa technical issue bago ilabas ang summon laban sa Tulfo family.
“Pasasagutin sila, limang araw matapos matanggap ang summons, pagkatapos submitted for decision yung kaso,” ani Garcia sa panayam sa radyo.
“Second week or third week ng March ay ilalabas ang decision ng Comelec division.”
Sa petisyon, sinabi ni Virgilio Garcia na ang mga respondent ay miyembro ng iisang pamilya, na ipinagbabawal umano sa ilalim ng 1987 Constitution dahil sa pagbabawal sa political dynasties.
“They are within the first and second civil degree of consanguinity or of affinity of each other,” saad sa petisyon.
“Respondents are all related to incumbent Senator Rafael Teshiba Tulfo (a.k.a. Raffy Tulfo) within the first or second civil degree of consanguinity or of affinity. Respondents Cong. Erwin, Ben and Wanda Tulfo – Teo are younger siblings of Senator Raffy Tulfo. Respondent Cong. Jocelyn Pua – Tulfo is the wife of Senator Raffy, while respondent Cong. Ralph is their son,” dagdag pa niya.
“There is already an existing anomalous scandalous father mother son in congress and this family want to add three more making a total of seven of them, all in same Congress. That is clearly a concentration of political power in one family,” sinabi naman ni Garcia.
Si Rep. Erwin Tulfo ay tumatakbo bilang senador sa eleksyon sa Mayo.
Si Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo, na isang reelectionist, ay asawa naman ni Senador Raffy Tulfo.
Habang sina Jocelyn at anak ni Raffy na si Rep. Ralph Tulfo ay reelectionist para sa 2nd district ng Quezon City.
Sa kabilang banda, si Tulfo-Teo, ay first nominee naman ng Turismo party-list habang si Ben Tulfo ay tumatakbong senador.
Si Erwin Tulfo, ani Garcia, ay “prevented from assuming” sa kanyang pwesto bilang kalihim ng social welfare department dahil sa mga isyu sa kanyang citizenship.
“He served in the U.S Army and had a U.S. passport using fictitious name. Surprisingly, intriguingly if you like, despite that disqualification he was allowed to assume as a party list nominee of ACT-CIS,” saad pa sa petisyon. RNT/JGC
