MANILA, Philippines – Nahalal ang isang opisyal ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) bilang Vice-Chair ng Asia Pacific Group of the United Nations (UN) Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD).
Nakuha ni DOST Undersecretary Leah Buendia ang posisyon kasabay ng ika-27 sesyon ng CSTD mula Abril 15 hanggang 19 sa Geneva, Switzerland.
Nanawagan si Buendia sa mga kasamahan na magtulungan para sa benepisyo ng developing countries at vulnerable sectors.
“We need to build trust and we can only do that if we have fair and just mechanisms. Let us continue helping each other, especially the developing countries and the vulnerable sectors,” sinabi pa ni Buendia.
Ang CSTD ay ang UN arm for science, technology, and innovation.
Ito ay may limang regional groups, kabilang ang Asia Pacific group. RNT/JGC
