MANILA, Philippines- Umabot ang multa para sa nahuling “colorum” o unregistered public utility vehicles (PUVs) sa P20.8 milyon para sa buong buwan ng Disyembre, ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) nitong Martes.
Sinabi ng DOTr na nakolekta ang nasabing halaga bilang bahagi ng “sweeping crackdown” na pinangangasiwaan ng Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT), Land Transportation Office (LTO), at ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
“The substantial fines of PHP200,000 per van and PHP1 million per bus imposed on offenders reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing road safety for all commuters,” anito.
Dagdag nito, target ng anti-colorum campaign ang unauthorized PUVs “with the sole purpose of safeguarding the welfare of road users.”
“The DOTr anticipates that more illegal and unregistered vehicles will be exposed as their intensified campaign continues,” wika nito.
