“Before Mr. Torre fantasizes about ‘arresting’ anybody, he should first arrest the memory gap of the Filipino public — because almost no one remembers he was PNP Chief. And how could they? His term was so short, it can be measured in hours rather than achievements.”

“Torre’s stint was not a leadership term — it was an intermission, a placeholder, a bookmark in a chapter that nobody read. The only thing shorter than his service is the patience of the PNP officers who wondered how someone so politically fragile ended up in the top post. Now he wants to parade himself as an expert on international law? As if a few days in office suddenly makes him the oracle of sovereignty?” ani Duterte.

“The Philippines is NOT an ICC member. Everyone knows that — except apparently Torre and whoever is coaching him to speak like a frustrated hall monitor trying to sound important. If Torre thinks threatening Senator Bato dela Rosa will elevate him, he might want to check the scoreboard: Bato actually served, fought, and bled for this country. Torre barely had time to find the comfort room in Camp Crame before being replaced.”

“His sudden loudness now is not courage. It’s bitterness masquerading as relevance. And for someone clinging to whatever media attention he can get, here’s a reality check: Credibility is earned over time — and Torre never served long enough to earn any.”

“Before he talks about arrest warrants, maybe he should explain why his own PNP term ended faster than a press conference. Until then, he should sit this one out. Short-term chiefs should not issue long-term threats.” Meliza Maluntag
