SINIMULAN na ng Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG) ang pag-iimbestigasa matinding alegasyon na isang “dating Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief” ang may kaugnayan kay ‘dismissed’ Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo.
Sa pahayag na inilabas ni CIDG Director, P/Maj.Gen.Leo Francisco, sinabi nitong lalaliman ang imbestigasyon upang lumabas ang katotohanan sa alegasyon.
“We are committed to thoroughly investigating these allegations to determine if there is any basis for the accusations against the former PNP Chief. Our primary objective is to validate the statements made by Gen. Raul Villanueva, and if supported by credible evidence, we will not hesitate to file appropriate charges against those involved,” paliwanag ni Francisco.
Pinagmulan ng pag-iimbestiga ang mga tinuran ni Villanueva na may dating PNP Chief na tumatanggap ng malaking suhol mula kay Guo, at kailangang malantad ang katotohanan dito.
Ani Francisco, nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa kinauukulan upang makakalap ng mga ebidensya at testimoniya hinggil sa ugnayan ni Guo at ng dating PNP Chief.
“We are committed to following due process, ensuring that all involved parties are thoroughly examined. The law applies to everyone, regardless of rank or position,” paggigiit pa ni Francisco.
Siniguro rin ng CIDG chief sa publiko ang kanilang pagsusumikap na matalupan ang katauhan ng heneral upang mapanagot ito at malinis nila ang imahe ng kapulisan.
“Should the investigation substantiate the claims, we will take swift and decisive legal actions to hold the former PNP official accountable for any misconduct or violations of the law,” pangako pa ni Francisco.
Matatandaan na si PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Marbil ay nabahala rin sa mga alegasyon ni Villanueva at sinabi nitong nakasisira iyon ng imahe ‘di lamang ng PNP kundi maging ng pamahalaan.
“The statement of General Villanueva is harmful to the integrity of the PNP and the government. As law enforcement officers, we are legally and morally bound to investigate these allegations thoroughly,” ang sabi ni Marbil.
“These are serious claims, and we will investigate them fully. If the evidence points to a particular individual, we will ensure that justice is served, regardless of their position,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa pag-usad ng imbestigasyon, nangako naman si Francisco sa publiko na magbibigay sila ng update sa anoman nilang mahuhukay mula sa alegasyon ni Villanueva.
