MANILA, Philippines – Aayuda ang Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) sa mga dating rebelde at pamilya ng mga ito na naapektuhan ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol sa Sarangani.
Sa pahayag nitong Martes, Hunyo 9, sinabi ni Presidential Adviser Mel Senen Sarmiento na ang OPAPRU ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa local disaster teams at lokal na pamahalaan para alamin ang kalagayan ng mga dating rebelde na nananatiling unreachable dahil sa mga nasirang communication line.
Nakikipag-ugnayan din ang ahensya sa Department of Social Welfare and Development at iba pang ahensya ng pamahalaan upang masiguro na ang mga dating rebelde at mga pamilya nito ay makakatanggap ng relief assistance at psychosocial support services.
“When disasters strike, those who have already endured years of conflict and displacement often face greater challenges. By helping connect them to essential government services and assistance, we strengthen their resilience and reinforce their confidence in the peace process and in government institutions,” ani Sarmiento.
Maglalabas ang OPAPRU ng report sa epekto ng lindol sa mga dating rebelde, mga pamilya nito, komunidad, at dating rebel-led People’s Organizations.
Nakiramay naman si Sarmiento sa mga nawalan ng mahal sa buhay dahil sa lindol. RNT/JGC
