MANILA, Philippines – Pinabulaanan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang Facebook post na nagsasabing si Police Brigadier General Rommel Francisco Marbil na ang bagong PNP chief.
Sa kumakalat kasi na post sa social media, makikita ang picture ni Francisco kasama ang template ng PNP Public Information Office.
“This is to inform the public that the Facebook post showing the picture of PM Gen. Rommel Francisco D. Marbil as the new Chief PNP, circulating in social media using the template of PNP PIO, is fake and not issued by the PNP Public Information Office,” paglilinaw ng PNP.
Iginiit nito na walang kaugnayan ang PNP sa naturang post at hindi dapat ituring bilang isang “official announcement” o endorsement.
Upang maiwasan ang misinformation, hinimok ng PNP ang publiko na makibalita lamang sa official channels ng ahensya para sa tamang impormasyon.
“We encourage everyone to please exercise caution, and refer to the official website and Facebook page of the PNP for any announcements and updates,” sinabi pa ng PNP. RNT/JGC
