MANILA, Philippines – Nagbabala si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na maaaring matinding banta sa bansa kung mapatutunayang totoo ang mga alegasyon ng pagpondo ng ilang Chinese entities sa mga kompanya na iniuugnay naman sa asawa ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“The most disturbing aspect of it is the Chinese money. That now rises to a national security issue,” ani Marcos.
“If it is true, it is a threat—a threat at the highest level to the Republic.”
Tumanggi namang magbigay ng komento ang Pangulo kung ano ang utos na ibibigay niya sa Department of National Defense at kung may nakausap na siyang mga opisyal ng China kaugnay sa alegasyon.
“What we are doing is thoroughly investigating this matter, the allegations,” dagdag ni Marcos.
Aniya, ang mga alegasyon kung mapatutunayang totoo ay ang magiging pinakaseryosong banta sa seguridad ng bansa.
“If it’s true, it would be, unfortunately, one more thing that we would have to worry about, and it would go straight to the top of our list of threats that are facing the Philippines,” anang Pangulo.
“We are talking about the sovereignty of the Republic. We are talking about the safety and security of the State.”
Tatanggapin naman ni Marcos ang anumang ebidensya na kokontra sa mga alegasyon.
“Nothing would make me happier than proof that it is not so. Then it’s one less thing that I have to worry about,” aniya.
Sa impeachment trial ni Duterte noong Oktubre 6, sinabi ni Senator-judge Risa Hontiveros sa Senate impeachment court na ilang kompanya ang nagpadala ng kabuuang P319.32 milyong halaga sa Cale88 Foods Corp ay Chinese state owned. RNT/JGC
