Higit 2.2M pasahero inaasahang daragsa sa NAIA ngayong holiday season

MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahang daragsa sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ang mahigit 2.2 milyong mga pasahero ngayong holiday season, ayon sa New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) nitong Sabado, Disyembre 21.

Sa pahayag ng NNIC, sinabi nito na 2.296 milyong pasahero ang inaasahan mula Disyembre 20, 2024 hanggang Enero 3, 2025 na katumbas ng 10.95 percent na pagtaas kumpara sa kaparehong panahon noong nakaraang taon.

Ang bilang ng mga pasahero at flights ay “projected to exceed those recorded during Undas and in the same period in 2023.”

“Christmas is a time for connecting with family, friends, and loved ones, and while this is one of the busiest seasons for NAIA, we are working hard to make the experience as safe and comfortable as possible for all passengers,” saad sa pahayag ni NNIC President Ramon Ang.

Pagpapatuloy, sinabi rin ng NNIC na naghahanda na ang paliparan sa pagdagsa ng mga pasahero sa airport temrinals sa pagpapatupad ng mga hakbang gaya ng “increased staffing, optimized terminal operations, and enhanced security protocols.”

Nakikipag-ugnayan din ang NNIC sa Manila International Airport Authority, Department of Transportation, Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Immigration, at Bureau of Quarantine.

Samantala, inabisuhan ang mga pasahero na sundin ang mga baggage instruction at restriction “for faster security screening.”

“NNIC encourages passengers to arrive at least 2.5 to 3 hours before domestic flights and 3.5 to 4 hours before international flights, and to check flight updates directly with their airline through official websites,” pagtatapos ng NNIC. RNT/JGC
