MANILA, Philippines – Nagpadala ang Southern Police District (SPD) ng 200 pulis para siguruhin ang kaligtasan ng publiko sa 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (APMCDRR), na nagsimula ngayong Lunes, Oktubre 14.
Ang conference na tatakbo hanggang Oktubre 18 ay may temang “Surge to 2030: Enhancing ambition in Asia-Pacific to accelerate disaster risk reduction.”
Layon nitong magbigay ng kritikal na plataporma sa pagsuri ng risk reduction efforts, pagtuklas ng innovative solutions, at gumawa ng commitment para pababain ang disaster risks pagsapit ng 2030 sa isa sa itinuturing na most disaster-prone regions ng mundo.
“In response to the significance of this international event, SPD has mobilized a dedicated team of 269 personnel,” ayon sa SPD.
“These police officers will be deployed across various key areas, including the Multi-Agency Coordinating Center, Police Assistance Desks, venue and perimeter security, and mobile patrols. Specialized units, including medical teams and EOD/K9 (K9/Explosive Ordnance Disposal) units, will also be present to ensure a comprehensive security approach,” dagdag pa.
Inatasan ng SPD ang lahat ng dispatched personnel na suportahan ang kanilang mga kasamahan, partikular ang mga nakatalaga sa police assistance desks, billets, at route deployments kung kinakailangan. RNT/JGC
