MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) chair Andres Reyes nitong Huwebes na kakailanganin ng komisyon na pag-aralan at i-draft muna ang rules of procedure at parameters bago ito mag-live streaming sa mga pagdinig nito.
Ito ay matapos ianunsyo ni Andres sa Senado noong Miyerkules na i-livestream nito ang investigative proceedings nito sa maanomalyang flood control projects at iba pang kuwestiyonableng imprastraktura ng gobyerno simula sa susunod na linggo.
“We hear the clamor of the Filipino people for more transparency, and we are pushing to livestream the hearings as soon as possible,” saad ni Reyes.
“However, before we do so, the ICI would need to study and draft the rules of procedure and parameters to allow for live streaming, taking into consideration sensitive information and the Constitutional rights of invited resource persons,” dagdag niya.
Binanggit din ng tagapangulo ng ICI ang dating paninindigan ng komisyon na panatilihing kumpidensyal ang mga paglilitis nito upang maiwasan ang “trial by publicity,” political grandstanding, sensationalism at disinformation.
“The evidence and testimonies we receive must undergo thorough verification before we can send referrals to the Office of the Ombudsman. These should hold up in court,” aniya.
Pagkatapos ay sinabi niya na ang panawagan ng mga tao para sa higit na transparency ay nagbunsod sa kanila na magpasya na simulan ang livestreaming ng kanilang mga pagdinig. RNT/MND
