DAVAO CITY- Kinondena ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan nitong Biyernes ang impeachment complait na inihain ng House of Representatives laban kay Vice President Sara Z. Duterte.
Tinawag ito ng partido na “sham and a railroaded process driven by political motives.”
Inihayag ng PDP-Laban sa pamumuno ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte ang pagkadismaya sa impeachment laban sa bise presidente.
“Vice President Duterte, who received 32.2 million votes in the 2022 elections, is the most-voted candidate in Philippine history. The impeachment is a blatant display of dirty politics, an affront to the sovereign will of the Filipino people, and a reckless abuse of power,” giit ng PDP-Laban.
Inakusahan ng PDP-Laban ang ilang House members ng pagpapasimuno umano ng impeachment upang ilihis ang public attention mula sa umano’y lumalalang sitwasyon ng bansa, kabilang ang korapsyon at kahirapan. Anito, nilalayon nitong yurakan ang tiyansa ni Duterte na tumakbo sa mas mataas na posisyon sa 2028.
“He (President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.) told the House to halt the impeachment complaint and address ordinary Filipinos’ problems. Why not address this growing discontent and frustrations across the country resulting from the worsening peace and order, graft and corruption, and poverty?” giit ng PDP Laban.
Nanawagan ang PDP-Laban sa mga botanteng Pilipino na maging alerto sa kanilang pagpili sa May elections, partikular sa mga uupong senador na tutukoy sa kapalaran ni VP Sara Duterte. RNT/SA
