MANILA, Philippines – Inalis na ng pamahalaan, sa pamamagitan ng Department of Agriculture (DA), ang ban sa importasyon ng poultry at poultry products mula Netherlands.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ng DA na nag-isyu si Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. ng Department Circular No. 05, na nagbabalik ng market access para sa Dutch domestic at wild birds at mga produkto nito, kabilang ang poultry meat, day-old chicks, mga itlog at semen “provided they originate from designated disease-free zones.”
Ang hakbang na ito ay nagbabalik sa key European supply source habang binabalanse ang mahigpit na border control measures.
Ang pag-aalis ng import ban ay kasunod ng technical review ng Bureau of Animal Industry ng public health controls at outbreak management ng Dutch government.
Pinapanatili ng Netherlands ang sapat na veterinary oversight at nagpatupad ng mga hakbang na nagresulta sa mababang banta ng pagkalat ng sakit.
Sa ilalim ng sistema, ang trade restrictions ay limitado lamang sa mga apektadong lugar at hindi ang buong bansa.
“Regionalization is a smart, science-driven safeguard that allows us to protect Philippine poultry while honoring our trade commitments,” ani Tiu Laurel.
“After rigorous evaluation, we are confident that the Netherlands’ veterinary controls and containment measures effectively mitigate the risks of HPAI from accredited zones,” dagdag pa niya.
Sinabi ng DA na lahat ng import transactions ay magpapatuloy sa ilalim ng pinagkasunduang kondisyon at umiiral na panuntunan ng DA.
Ang pinakabagong circular ay epektibo 15 araw matapos ang publikasyon sa official website ng DA at filing sa Office of the National Administrative Register. RNT/JGC
