MANILA, Philippines – Tumaas sa 2.9% ang inflation rate noong Disyembre 2024 mula sa 2.5% noong Nobyembre, ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) nitong Martes, Enero 7.
Sa press conference, sinabi ni National Statistician at PSA chief Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa na ang pagtaas ay dahil sa price hike sa kuryente, housing rentals, at LPG na binubuo ng 56.2% na pagtaas.
Sa kabilang banda, nag-ambag naman ang pagtaas sa presyo ng petrolyo, at passenger transport ng 46.9% sa inflation rate.
Ang inflation sa passenger transport cost sa dagat ay tumaas sa 71.9% mula 17.1% noong Nobyembre, habang ang inflation para sa LPG ay umabot sa 7.8%.
“The rental inflation is at 2.4% compared with 2.2% in November 2024. Of course, there are changes in contract [for renewal]. These include studio types, one bedroom, two bedrooms,” ani Mapa.
