MANILA, Philippines – Nakaranas ng mabagal na internet at pagkawala ng koneksyon ang ilang internet service provider (ISP) sa bansa noong Biyernes ng gabi, Oktubre 2.
Ayon sa University of the Philippines Diliman Network Helpdesk, isang bahagi ng undersea cable na nag-uugnay sa Pilipinas at Singapore ang iniulat na offline.
Dahil dito, nakaranas ng disconnection at mabagal na internet ang ilang user, lalo na sa mga platform na gumagamit ng offshore servers.
“Since most of our upstream ISPs connect through these major information pipelines, please expect increased latencies and intermittent performance, especially if the sites being accessed are hosted offshore,” ayon sa advisory.

Samantala, sinabi ng Padecoinc na down din ang cable segment sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Hong Kong, na nakaapekto sa “overall capacity and global internet connectivity.”
Naglabas din ng advisory ang Globe Telecom at sinabi nitong nakakaranas ang mga customer nito ng mabagal na mobile at broadband internet dahil sa isang technical issue.
“Our Globe customers may experience slow internet access for both mobile and broadband services due to a technical issue,” pahayag ng Globe.
Sinabi naman ng Broadband service Coverage na nakikipag-ugnayan ito sa technical support teams para maibalik ang normal na internet access. RNT/MDS
