MANILA – Nakikiramay si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pagkamatay ng Pangulo ng Iran na si Ebrahim Raisi, matapos na bumagsak ang sinasakyang helicopter sa bulubunduking kalupaan malapit sa hangganan ng Iran-Azerbaijan.
Lulan din ng helicopter si Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian at anim na iba pang pasahero at tripulante.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the people and the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, especially to the families and loved ones of the late President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and their companions in this tragic incident,” ani Marcos sa isang social media post.
“The Filipino people mourn with you and will keep you in our prayers during this difficult time,” dagdag pa niya.
Ang helicopter na sinasakyan ni Raisi ay iniulat na nag-hard landing dahil sa lagay ng panahon matapos dumalo ang Iranian president sa seremonya ng inagurasyon ng dam sa hangganan ng Iran-Azerbaijan.
Si Raisi, 63, na matagal nang nakikita bilang potensyal na kahalili ng Supreme Leader ng Iran na si Ali Khamenei, at ang foreign minister ng bansa at ang kanilang mga kasama, ay natagpuang patay sa lugar ng pagbagsak ng helicopter noong Lunes pagkatapos ng isang oras na paghahanap. RNT
