MANILA, Philippines- Lumagda ang Commission on Higher Education (CHED), University of the Philippines Los Banos (UPLB), at piling state universities and colleges (SUCs) nitong Biyernes sa isang memorandum agreement (MOA) para sa libreng licensure review program para sa agriculture students.
Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, gagamitin ng CHED ang pagkadalubhasa ng UPLB sa pagsasagawa ng libreng review classes bilang paghahanda para sa agriculturists licensure examination sa Oktubre.
Sinabi ni CHED Chairperson Prospero de Vera na ang kakulangan sa access sa review centers sa mga liblib na lugar ang dahilan ng pagkasa ng komisyon ng programa na susuporta sa kanilang Access and Success for Quality and Inclusive Higher Education initiative.
“Why do we do it? Because as I saw in Sulu State (College), these students taking up agriculture in Sulu State College do not have access to a review center in Sulu. Because there is none. They have to go to Zamboanga to take up their review classes. 10 hours by boat plus the expenses of staying in Zamboanga, ” pahayag niya.
Ani De Vera, 15 SUCs ang napili base sa tatlong criteria.
“The first one is that they must have a strong connectivity and they must have computer laboratories because that is where the review class will be done. Second, they must come from far flung areas, the further from Manila the better. And number 3, they must have licensure results that need to be improved,” anang opisyal.
Ipinaliwanag din niyang isasagawa ang review classes “electronically” na tinawag niyang “cost effective” para sa mga mag-aaral at sa CHED.
“Cost effective because when we fund it and it is done electronically mas mura yung cost and yet the impact of this on the different schools is very high,” wika ng opisyal.
Kabilang ang Basilan State College, Sulu State College, University of Eastern Philippines, Tawi-Tawi Regional Agricultural College sa 15 SUCs na aasistihan. RNT/SA
