MANILA, Philippines- Hinikayat ng grupong Bayan Muna ang pamahalaan na suspendihin ang inaprubahan kamakailan na dagdag-pasahe sa Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), dahil mabibigatan umano rito ang mga mananakay.
Itinaas ng approved fare adjustment ang minimum fare para sa single journey ticket mula P15 sa P20; at ang maximum mula P44 sa P55.
“Bayan Muna demands the immediate suspension of the fare hike implementation and calls for a thorough review of the fare adjustment mechanism that consistently favors private concessionaires over public interest,” pahayag ng grupo nitong Sabado.
Inihirit ng railway system ang fare increase noong Enero.
Inanunsyo ng Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) nitong Huwebes na iiral ang revised fare matrix simula April 2, 2025.
“This is unacceptable. The majority of LRT-1 riders are minimum wage workers who are already struggling with daily expenses,” giit ni Bayan Muna party-list representative Ferdinand Gaite.
“Pahirap, pabigat sa pasaherong Pilipino ito, lalo na sa ating mga manggagawa at mga commuter na walang ibang choice kundi mag-LRT araw-araw,” patuloy niya. RNT/SA
