MANILA, Philippines – Nakuha ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) ang ilang luxury cars na diumano’y pag-aari ni dating Ako Bicol Party-list representative Zaldy Co, na na-seize ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) noong Enero 9.
Ayon sa ICI, walo sa 15 sasakyan na iniulat na ilegal na na-import ay nakaparada na sa kanilang headquarters matapos ang pagkaka-seize mula sa isang condominium sa Taguig City, alinsunod sa search warrants mula sa regional trial court dahil sa umano’y paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Acts.
Sinabi ng ICI: “The ICI had received information regarding fifteen vehicles allegedly linked to former ako Bicol Party-list Representative Elizaldy ‘Zaldy’ Co… Following its investigation, the commission was able to obtain and verify the plate numbers of these vehicles.”
Ayon sa imbestigasyon, ang mga sasakyan ay nakarehistro sa mga entity na may kaugnayan sa dating mambabatas.
Nalaman ng BOC na siyam sa 15 sasakyan ang may kulang na importation documents at hindi nabayarang duties at taxes.
Patuloy ang ICI sa pag-verify ng impormasyon at hinihikayat ang publiko na magsumite ng kredibleng datos kaugnay sa kanilang imbestigasyon sa anomalous flood control at infrastructure projects. RNT/MND
