MANILA, Philippines- Sinabi ng Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Biyernes na asahan na ng publiko ang mabilis na three to five-minute emergency response matapos mag-dial ng 911.
Nangako ang PNP na agad na darating ang responders sa emergency scene “within five minutes,” sa bagong 911 system na pinatatakbo ng parehong teknolohiya na ginagamit sa United States at sa Europe.
Sinabi ni Office of Communications and Electronics Services (CES) Director Police Brigadier General Warren Gaspar Tolito na binibigyang-daan ng 911 Call Handling System na agad na makatugon ang PNP sa distress calls at mabilis na makapagbigay ng emergency response na may “accurate pinpointing of locations.”
“PNP first responders are able to provide solutions and assistance within five minutes or less, depending on location,” dagdag ng PNP.
Para makahingi ng tulong sa pamamagitan ng 911, kailangang i-dial ang nasabing numero– sa pamamagitan ng cellphone o landline— at pindutin ang 1.
Agad na kokonekta ang tawag sa PNP, at matutukoy ng dispatchers ang eksaktong lokasyon ng caller at magpapadala ng first responders sa loob ng ilang segundo.
“If reporting a crime in progress, try to observe and gather as many details as possible: number of suspects involved, clothes worn, gender, hair cut or hair length. If a vehicle is involved, make and color or license plates, if visible, will be very helpful,” ani Tolito.
May paalala naman si Tolito ngayong Kapaskuhan.
“The holiday season is a merry and busy season but it is a challenging time for emergency call takers and responders. This is the time when accidents from drunk driving usually occur, fires break out due to neglected appliances or Christmas lights, and people suffer medical emergencies due to overindulgence or fireworks. Thefts and break-ins also happen, especially when the property is unoccupied,” wika ng opisyal.
Kaya, hinimok niya ang mga residente na ikandado ang mga pinto at sasakyan bago umalis, hayaang bukas ang ilaw sa gabi o kahit araw upang maiwasan ang mga magnanakaw. RNT/SA
