MANILA, Philippines – Hinimok ni Senador Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV ang Department of Education (DepEd) na magsagawa ng malalim na konsultasyon bago ipatupad ang planong trimester system.
Ayon kay Aquino, na namumuno sa Senate Committee on Basic Education, mahalagang suriin ang bisa ng panukala bago ito ipatupad.
“Before the DepEd implements the trimester system, it is important that it undergo extensive consultation,” ani Aquino.
“We will ensure that there is a Senate Hearing on this reform, to review and discuss it,” dagdag pa niya.
Suportado ng senado ang mga reporma na makakatulong sa mga guro at makasasara sa learning gap, pero pinapayuhan ni Aquino na huwag padalos-dalos ang implementasyon.
“While we recognize the need for extensive reform, let us ensure that it is not done hastily and that it goes through proper consultation,” sabi niya.
Ayon naman kay DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, makakatulong ang trimestral system sa mas mahabang oras ng pagtuturo, mas maayos na pacing ng lessons, at mas mababang workload sa mga guro, batay sa findings ng Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2).
