MANILA, Philippines – Nangako si dating Vice President at ngayon ay Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo na susugpuin nito ang korapsyon sa lungsod, kabilang ang pag-aalis ng alokasyon sa confidential fund.
“We will institutionalize a fair and merit-based Human Resources System. The budget will be spent on essential programs. [And] given our very limited resources, we need to make some sacrifices,” sinabi ni Robredo sa kanyang inagurasyon bilang alkalde ng lungsod.
“Primarily, we will remove confidential funds from our budget. So expect this to be gone. This sacrifice will be used to ensure that the local government will be efficient, and that it will only reward the employees who are genuinely dedicated in doing their job,” dagdag pa niya.
Ani Robredo, agad siyang mag-iisyu ng dalawang executive order na magpapatupad ng zero tolerance sa korapsyon sa lungsod sa pamamagitan ng transparent procurement at mass regularization program para sa 107 casual employees na naglingkod ng 10 taon at higit pa.
“We will purge corruption here in Naga. There will be no inflated prices, SOP, kickback or acceptance of gifts in exchange of favors,” aniya.
Sa ilalim ng naturang sistema, mas maraming tao ang mahihikayat na lumahok at makipagtulungan sa gobyerno.
“As we enter a new chapter, we are asked to remember that the progress we seek will only have meaning when it is felt across all spaces,” dagdag pa niya.
Si Robredo ang kauna-unahang babaeng mayor ng Naga City.
Ang kanyang asawa na si dating Interior and Local Government secretary Jesse Robredo ay nagsilbi ring mayor ng lungsod 37 taon na ang nakararaan. RNT/JGC
