MANILA, Philippines- Naka-full alert ang Manila Electric Company (Meralco) para sa darating na May 12, 2025 midterm national and local elections.
Sa news release nitong Sabado, inihayag ng Meralco na nakaantabay na ang mga tauhan nito upang tiyakin ang matatag at maaasahang serbisyo sa mahigit 3,000 polling precincts, canvassing centers at vital election sites sa buong franchise area sa kabuuan ng election period.
Sinabi ng power distributor na nakatakdang i-deploy ang mga crew nito, maging mahigit 160 generator sets at 470 floodlights, sa strategic areas upang masiguro ang agarang pagresponde sa posibleng electricity service concerns.
Ayon pa sa kompanya, ininspeksyon na nito ang mga paaralan na gagamitin bilang polling precincts bago pa ang araw ng eleksyon. Nagsagawa rin ng maintenance at upgrading activities.
“Historically, Meralco’s franchise has had no major troubles during elections. Nonetheless, we have put in place contingency measures in case of isolated outages or service interruptions,” pahayag ni Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga.
“Our personnel across the organization will be ready to respond 24/7, with our crews strategically positioned across our franchise area and our customer care group on standby for the immediate resolution of any electricity-related trouble before, during, and after the elections,” dagdag ni Zaldarriaga.
“In addition, we would like to remind those manning polling precincts to refrain from bringing additional appliances such as rice cookers and electric fans to avoid overloading of facilities that could also affect electricity service,” aniya pa. RNT/SA
