IRAN – Sinabi ni Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim nitong Huwebes, Marso 26 na nakipag-usap siya sa mga lider ng Iran, Egypt, Turkey at iba pang regional countries kung saan pinapayagan na umano ang mga barko ng Malaysia na makadaan sa Strait of Hormuz.
Sa televised address, nagpasalamat si Anwar sa Pangulo ng Iran sa pagpayag na makadaan ang mga barko ng Malaysia.
“We are now in the process of releasing the Malaysian oil tankers and the workers involved so that they may continue their journey home,” aniya.
“But it is not easy, as Iran feels it has been deceived repeatedly and finds it difficult to accept steps toward peace without a clear and binding security guarantee for their nation,” dagdag pa.
Sa kabila nito, sinabi ng pamahalaan ng Malaysia na mananatili ang oil price subsidies at paraan para mapahupa ang epekto ng supply disruptions.
“For us now, we are compelled to manage the situation because the effects of the blockade at the Strait of Hormuz, the war, and the halted supply of oil and gas all have an impact on us,” sinabi pa ni Anwar. RNT/JGC
