MANILA, Philippines – Inanunsyo ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na naging matagumpay ang isinagawang simulation o mock elections noong Hunyo 27 para sa automated election system (AES) na gagamitin sa kauna-unahang regular na parliamentary elections ng Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) sa Setyembre 14.
Ayon kay Comelec Chairman George Garcia, maayos ang mock voting sa Cotabato City, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, at Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
“Our transmission of data was perfect and without interruption,” ani Garcia. Dagdag pa niya, nasiyahan din ang mga lumahok sa pagsubok.
Kinumpirma rin ng Namfrel at Institute for Autonomy and Governance ang maayos na naging resulta ng simulation.
Kabuuang 500 botante ang lumahok, na may tig-50 botante sa bawat clustered precinct.
Ayon sa isang kalahok na si Abdull Tolondatu, “We are satisfied, happy to see the faces of our candidates in the official ballot. The process is not complex, it’s simple.”
Mabilis ding naipadala ang election results sa mga server ng Comelec, dominant majority at minority parties, media, Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV), at Namfrel.
Nakatakda ang unang regular na BARMM parliamentary elections sa Setyembre 14, maliban na lamang kung maglabas ng ibang desisyon ang Korte Suprema kaugnay ng mga nakabinbing petisyon.
May 2,393,530 rehistradong botante sa BARMM na boboto sa 1,186 voting centers sa 2,185 barangay upang pumili ng 32 district representatives, 40 party nominees, at 8 sectoral representatives. RNT/MDS
