Sa botong 200 pabor at 1 pagtutol, pasado na sa huli at ikatlong pagbasa sa Kamara ang House Bill (HB) 10424 kung saan papayagan na ang mga motorsiklo na maging common carriers sa transportasyon ng pasahero at iba pa.
“The House of Representatives acknowledge that motorcycles-for-hire not just serve as an efficient alternative to mass public transportation but also a viable source of livelihood for Filipinos,” pahayag ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“This bill aims to provide safe, sufficient, and economical mode of public transport by allowing and regulating the use of motorcycles as public utility vehicles,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa oras na maisabatas ay bibigyan ng mandato ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) na i-regulate ang operasyon ng motorcycles-for-hire.
Habang ang bilang ng unit at ruta at dapat alinsunud sa local public transport route plan na rekomendado ng local government unit (LGU).
