Muling pag-isyu ng voter’s ID sinisilip ng Comelec

MANILA, Philippines- Sinisilip ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) na muling magpalabas ng voter’s identification (ID) cards.

Inihayag ni Comelec chairperson George Garcia nitong Miyerkules na sinimulan nila ang pagtalakay sa posibleng pagbabalik ng pag-isyu ng cards ngayong taon.

“In the case of our national ID, many are still unable to get them. Hopefully, before the end of the year, we can bring it back. The commission is already discussing its specifics and the required funding for it,” ani Garcia.

“Hopefully, we can give an initial batch to our overseas Filipinos. We hope to have the best features, have 32 security features, and the least costly one,” dagdag ng opisyal.

Noong December 2017, sinuspinde ng poll body ang pag-isyu ng voter’s ID dahil sa paglalabas ng pamahalaan ng national ID sa ilalim ng Philippine Identification System (PhilID).

Ang card na inisyu ng Comelec ay valid ID, bagama’t pinapayagang bumoto ang isang registered voter kahit na wala siyang voter’s ID. RNT/SA
