Naarestong Chinese hacker iniimbestigahan ng AFP

MANILA, Philippines – Nagsimula nang imbestigahan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ang naarestong Chinese national na may dala-dalang hindi awtorisadong mga armas at hinihinalang kagamitan sa pangha-hack.

Ayon kay AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa Philippine National Police (PNP) “to thoroughly examine” ang mga nakumpiskang gamit mula kay Liu Yuhang.

“We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Mr. Yuhang Liu, who was detained by law enforcement for possessing unauthorized firearms and equipment potentially linked to communications hacking,” saad sa pahayag ni Padilla nitong Biyernes, Mayo 31.

“The discovery of firearms and sophisticated electronic equipment is concerning and underscores the importance of vigilance,” dagdag niya.

Nitong Miyerkules ay naaresto ng mga tauhan ng PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group si Liu sa Makati dahil sa pagdadala ng illegal na armas at pagkakaroon ng potential hacking equipment.

Sa pagsasagawa ng follow-up operation ay nakita na mas marami pang mga kagamitan si Liu sa kanyang condominium unit sa Parañaque City.

Batid ni Padilla ang pagiging “sensitive nature of this case” kaya’t hinimok nito ang publiko na huwag agad-agad gagawa ng mga konklusyon.

“We understand the sensitive nature of this case, given the alleged involvement of a foreign national,” aniya.

“At this point, we urge caution in drawing any conclusions regarding Mr. Liu’s affiliations or the implication of his actions until the investigation is complete,” pagtatapos nito. RNT/JGC
