MANILA, Philippines- Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang 2024 National Security Strategy (NSS) na nakikitang makapagpapahusay sa kakayahan ng bansa para talakayin ang masalimuot na ‘security challenges’ kapwa ‘locally at globally.’
Sa isang kalatas, inanunsyo ni National Security Adviser Eduardo Año na inaprubahan ni Pangulong Marcos ang NSS sa isinagawang pagpupulong sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang noong Disyembre 19.
Ang NSS, sinusuportahan ang National Security Policy for 2023-2028 ng administrasyon, ay bumabalangkas sa 53 strategic directions at 393 actionable steps na idinisenyo para pangalagaan ang soberanya ng bansa, protektahan ang kapakanan ng mga mamamayan at isulong ang kapayapaan at pagkakaisa.
“The 2024 NSS prioritizes four key areas: human capital development, institution-building, efficient use of national power through diplomacy and defense, and fostering sustainable economic growth through resilience and legislative support,” ang sinabi ni Año.
Binigyang-diin pa rin ni Año ang papel ng NSS sa pagtugon sa ‘local at global threats’ mula sa territorial disputes sa economic challenges, habang nakatuon sa kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino.
“This strategy is not only about defending borders. It’s about protecting the hopes and dreams of every Filipino family,” pahayag ng opisyal.
“The NSS provides a roadmap for building a resilient, united, and self-reliant nation,” dagdag na wika nito.
Nakahanay sa Philippine Development Plan, itinataguyod ng NSS ang whole-of-nation approach, hinihikayat ang partisipasyon mula sa mga ahensya ng gobyerno, pribadong organisasyon, at lokal na komunidad para makamit ang nilalayong national security.
“Key priorities of the strategy include investing in education and healthcare, strengthening governance, and leveraging technology to enhance national defense. It also aims to protect critical industries, support economic growth, and uphold the Philippines’ sovereignty, while ensuring opportunities for future generations,” ayon kay Año.
Dahil dito, hinikayat ni Año ang mga Pilipino na aktibong makiisa sa ‘collective security efforts’ ng bansa.
“Each step we take brings us closer to a future where our children will be proud to call this nation their own,” giit niya.
“The NSS is a call to action for the entire nation. By working together, we can overcome challenges, protect our sovereignty, and create a brighter future for all,” ang pahayag ni Año. Kris Jose
