NAVOTAS Mayor John Rey Tiangco has relaunched the free Wi-Fi services, this time with more areas covered all over the city.

He also officially opened the festivities of the season with the lighting of the giant Christmas tree and fireworks display at the Navotas Citywalk and Amphitheater.

Aside from the Citywalk and Amphitheater, some of the 38 Wi-Fi hotspots include City Hall, Navotas Centennial Park and Greenzone Park, public markets, barangay halls, health centers, and public schools.

The program allows each user to access a free internet connection for 30 minutes daily and all hotspots can accommodate 250 users at a given time.

New gym inaugurated

Tiangco and brother, Rep. Toby Tiangco, led the blessing of the newly-inaugurated gym at the Navotas Sports Complex and multi-purpose buildings in Barangay NBBS Kaunlaran.

These projects aim to encourage an active lifestyle and provide versatile facilities for the community, according to the Tiangco brothers.

Both city leaders called on residents to care for the new facilities and use them responsibly to preserve their quality and ensure they serve the community for years to come.

Kadiwa Stores to boost farmers’ income

The Department of Agriculture must ensure the establishment of more ‘Kadiwa Stores’ outside the National Capital Region (NCR) in bid to boost the income of the local farmers.

The Navotas lawmaker said the presence of these stores especially in areas like Navotas where more poor people live would be vital to give them access to quality and affordable food.

“But we are happy to know that the agriculture department has been adding more ‘Kadiwa stores’ nationwide. This is a great move to help our local farmers,” he said.

Hospital expands services

More poor residents were expected to benefit from the services of Navotas City Hospital (NCH) with the opening of its new intensive care units (ICUs) and specialty clinics.

The Tiangco brothers announced the expanded services of NCH as they led other key city officials in the blessing of its ICUs and specialty clinics.

The new specialty clinics include women’s health, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and a heart station equipped with 2D echo and ECG (electro-cardiogram) facilities.

“These facilities address the growing demand for medical services in Navotas.”

”Every Navoteño deserved quality healthcare. This expansion is not just about adding infrastructure but proving that public service is about making things happen,” they added.
