MANILA, Philippines – Hiniling ni Sen. Imee Marcos nitong Huwebes kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na pansamantalang suspendihin ang tatlong opisyal ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) kasunod ng insidente ng pamamaril sa Senado.
Sa kanyang liham sa Pangulo, sinabi ng senador na may “serious concern” siya sa tinawag niyang “alleged siege and firing of shots by NBI” na nagdulot ng “public alarm and raised grave questions on the security of the Senate and the accountability of law enforcement officers involved.”
Kabilang sa mga pinapare-relieve ni Marcos ay ang mga sumusunod:
–NBI Director Atty. Melvin Matibag
–NBI-NCR Chief Atty. Emeterio Dongallo Jr.
–NBI-Organized and Transnational Crime Division Chief Atty. Jerome Bomediano
Ayon sa senador, mahalaga ang pansamantalang pagtanggal sa puwesto ng mga ito habang iniimbestigahan ang insidente.
“Such temporary relief is necessary to preserve the integrity and credibility of the investigation and to remove any appearance of undue influence or impropriety,” ani Imee Marcos.
Ayon pa sa kanya, lumalalim ang pangamba ng publiko dahil sa umano’y magkasalungat na pahayag ng NBI, kabilang ang sinabi ni Director Matibag na walang agents na naka-deploy sa Senado at nasa isang fellowship event sila sa hotel.
“Public concern has been heightened by the inconsistent public statements of Director Matibag, including claims that NBI personnel were merely at Sequoia Hotel for a fellowship, despite reports and videos allegedly showing NBI agents in or within the Senate premises,” dagdag niya.
Giit ng senador, mas mahalagang maging malaya at walang impluwensya ang imbestigasyon dahil sa mga hindi tugmang ulat at pahayag na lumalabas kaugnay ng insidente. RNT/MND
