MANILA, Philippines – Naka-full alert ang National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) simula alas-5 ng umaga nitong Hunyo 30 dahil sa mga rally sa EDSA, ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP).
Hindi pa sinabi kung kailan ito tatapusin.
Itinaas din sa full alert ang mga pulis sa Central Luzon at Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, at Quezon).
Ayon sa PNP, “All personnel have been directed to maintain full operational readiness and perform their duties in accordance with established operational procedures.”
Binabantayan ng pulisya ang apat na pangunahing rally sa Metro Manila:
• People Power Monument – humigit-kumulang 10,000 kalahok
• EDSA southbound malapit sa Connecticut Street – 300 kalahok
• Liwasang Bonifacio – 300 kalahok
• EDSA Shrine – 250 kalahok
Nag-deploy ang PNP ng 5,936 pulis sa People Power Monument, EDSA Shrine, Senado, Mendiola Peace Arch, Ayala Bridge, US Embassy, Liwasang Bonifacio, at iba pang lugar.
Iginiit ng PNP na “The PNP recognizes and respects the constitutional right of every Filipino to peacefully assemble and express their views.”
Dagdag pa nito, “Police personnel deployed on the ground have been instructed to exercise maximum tolerance, remain impartial, uphold human rights, and carry out their duties with professionalism and restraint.” RNT/MDS
